About the event

Annie is a musical with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and a book by Thomas Meehan. It is based on the 1924 comic strip Little Orphan Annie by Harold Gray (which in turn was inspired from the poem Little Orphant Annie by James Whitcomb Riley).

The Sandwich Opera House Performing Arts Theater is thankful and grateful to be awarded a 2026 General Operating Support grant of $2500 from the Illinois Arts Council. It is through support such as this we are able to continue to provide the greater Sandwich community with a performing arts center that promotes educational, charitable and cultural activities the enriches us all. We could not continue to do what we do without this generous support.

Thank you to the Dekalb County Community Foundation for the awarding of the  Fall 2025 Community Needs Grant program to the  Sandwich Opera House (ARCH) in the amount of $1,510.00. It will be used to help pay for badly needed new gutters and fascia for the building. We are indebted to the DCCF and all entities that donate for the maintenance of this beloved historic building.
